Explanation of notations
Whenever part of an award is varied a 'history notation' is inserted just above the clause or paragraph that has been changed or inserted.
- The operative dates for all current variations appear in the history notation.
- Each operative date for current variations is written in the same style i.e. two digit day/three letter month/last two numbers of the year, e.g. 16Jun03.
- Each date is prefixed by ppc, from or rpc as reflected in the order. The prefix ppc stands for 'pay period commencing'. The prefix from is used in most other cases when the operative date commences from a particular date. The prefix rpc stands for 'rostered pay period commencing' and is very rarely used.
- Where an order covers certain respondents only this is stated e.g. [PRxxxxxx ppc ddmmmyy (binds certain respondents only see copy appended at p.XX of this award)] or [PRxxxxxx ppc ddmmmyy does not apply to insert respondent see order appended at p.XX of this award].
