25. OVERTIME

25.1 Work outside of original rostered hours

25.1.1 A Flight Attendant may be required to work outside their original rostered duty in accordance with the provisions of clause 23 - Variation to Rostered Hours of Work.

25.1.2 A Flight Attendant drafted on an incentive pay day must be paid at the rate of single time in addition to the normal weekly wage for all hours worked.

25.1.3 A rosterholder drafted to work outside the original rostered duty must be paid at the rate of single time in addition to the normal weekly wage for all duty performed outside the original rostered duty.

25.1.4 A Flight Attendant drafted in accordance with 23.2 to a flight(s) planned to operate into a designated/substitute day off must:

25.1.4(a) be paid double time for a minimum of 4 hours for any time worked on the designated/substitute day off or, if more than 4 hours is worked on the designated/substitute day off, the Flight Attendant must be paid double time for such longer period as is actually worked on the designated/substitute day off; and

25.1.4(b) receive a substitute day off

25.1.5 If a Flight Attendants’ tour of duty extends beyond 2359 hours into a designated day off, the Flight Attendant:

25.1.5(a) must be paid the rate of double time from midnight for the period worked; and

25.1.5(b) must be free of duty for the remainder of that designated day off and

25.1.5(c) must be given a substitute day off

25.1.6 A Flight Attendant drafted to duty on a designated/substitute day off must:

25.1.6(a) be paid at double time for 8 hours or, if more than 8 hours is worked, the Flight Attendant must be paid at double time for such longer period as is actually worked; and

25.1.6(b) receive a substitute day off.

25.1.7 Unplanned Overnights

25.1.7(a)(i) In addition to normal weekly wage, incentive pay rates for a minimum of 8 hours, or if more than 8 hours is spent returning to home base the actual time taken; and

25.1.7(a)(ii) be given a substitute day off

25.1.7(b) A Flight Attendant who returns to permanent base as a result of an unplanned overnight must be paid at the rate of single time in addition to the normal weekly wage for all duty performed outside the original rostered duty.

25.1.8 A Flight Attendant away from their permanent base who is rescheduled in accordance with 24.5 will be accredited for the rostered duty hours or the actual duty hours performed (whichever is the greater). Incentive Pay Day rates must be paid for all duty hours which exceed the rostered duty.

25.1.9 Where a Flight Attendant is reassigned in accordance with 23.4, and the duty inadvertently extends beyond the buffer, the Flight Attendant must be paid at the rate of single time in addition to the normal weekly wage for all time that the duty extends beyond the buffer period.

25.1.10 A full-time Flight Attendant must be paid the single time hourly rate for at least 8 duty hours, in addition to salary, each week on which the Flight Attendant performs more than two calendar days of ground duties as a trainer.

25.1.11 Reserve or reassignable Flight Attendants assigned additional duty in accordance with 23.2, after sign on receive incentive pay day rates for the additional duty.

25.1.12 Where a Flight Attendant is entitled to a substitute day off, that day must be agreed or failing agreement, nominated by the Employer and the reason for non agreement supplied.

25.1.13 An IPD Flight Attendant who reports for duty at the airport, and the duty is cancelled, will receive 4 hours pay if required to return home. Alternatively, a Flight Attendant who is required to remain at the airport will receive 4 hours pay, or if more than 4 hours is spent on duty, the Flight Attendant must be paid for such longer period as is actually spent on duty. The appropriate rest periods ‘will commence from the sign-off time.

25.1.14 Minimum Payment and Duty Hour Credit

25.1.14(a) A Flight Attendant’s rostered duty is cancelled, and the Flight Attendant has arrived at the airport, and no replacement duty has been allocated in accordance with 23.4.

25.1.14(b) A reserve or reassignable Flight Attendant is called to the airport for a duty which is subsequently cancelled and no replacement duty has been allocated in accordance with 23.4.

25.1.14(c) A reserve or reassignable Flight Attendant is called for a duty which does not include flight duty.

25.2 Other Overtime

25.2.1 Daily Overtime

The following overtime must be calculated on a daily basis:

25.2.1(a) For all time worked in excess of 8 and up to 10 hours a Flight Attendant must be paid time and a half in addition to normal weekly base rate of pay; and

25.2.1(b) For all time worked in excess of 10 hours a Flight Attendant must be paid double time in addition to normal weekly base rate of pay.
