AP781128 - Flight Attendants (Domestic Airlines) Award 1999

16. TYPES OF EMPLOYMENT

16.1 General

16.1.1 Flight Attendants under this award will be employed in any of the following categories:

16.1.2 At the time of engagement an Employer will inform each employee of the terms of their engagement and in particular whether they are to be full-time or part-time, Flight Attendants.

16.2 Part-time employment

16.2.1 An Employer may employ part-time Flight Attendants in any classification in this award.

16.2.2 A part-time Flight Attendant is a Flight Attendant employed as such and:

16.2.3 At the time of engagement the Employer and the part-time Flight Attendant will agree on the range of part time hours that may be worked in a roster period.

16.2.4 Any agreed variation to the Flight Attendant’s hours per roster period must be recorded.

16.2.5 The Employer must provide a copy of this agreement to the Flight Attendant.

16.2.6 An Employer is required to roster a part-time Flight Attendant for a minimum of 4 consecutive duty hours on any tour of duty or reserve duty.

16.2.7 A part-time Flight Attendant receives, on a pro rata basis, equivalent pay and conditions to those of full-time Flight Attendants in the same classification.

16.2.8 A part-time Flight Attendant is not entitled to Incentive Pay Days, unless the Flight Attendant elects to work beyond the agreed part time hours per roster period. Such hours are paid at the single time rate.

16.3 Full-time employment

A Flight Attendant is employed as a full time Flight Attendant unless otherwise specified.
