15. STAND DOWN - INVESTIGATING ACCIDENTS AND/OR INCIDENTS

15.1 An Employer may hold a Flight Attendant out of service, for a reasonable period, during an investigation into an accident or incident in which that Flight Attendant may have been involved. Whether the period of suspension is with or without pay will depend upon the finding of the investigation (which must be provided in writing to the Flight Attendant). The reasons for holding the Flight Attendant out of service must be given to the Flight Attendant in writing at that time.

15.2 The Company may hold the Flight Attendant out of service for a reasonable period of time to investigate a serious disciplinary matter, but must continue to pay the Flight Attendant’s salary and the in lieu shift penalty. The Flight Attendant must be advised in writing of this action and the reasons for it at the time of being held out of service.
